It’s okay to ask questions, that’s what were here for. Below is a list of the most commonly asked questions and answers about the event.
Am I fit enough?
We encourage runners of all fitness levels to come and have a go. The time slots show the average time you should be running to determine which slot you should opt for.
Is there parking on site?
Parking is available on site – please follow the directional signage and car parkers to the correct area.
Is there changing facilities?
There are NO dedicated changing rooms or showers at the venue. Whilst you are welcome to leave your clothes and bags in the Grandstand Hall as a bag drop area, Newcastle Racecourse can accept no liability for loss or damage to any items left unattended. It is recommended that you do not bring valuables with you and that any items are left either with spectators or locked in your car. It is also recommended that you bring a change of warm clothes and shoes, baby wipes, and a towel for the journey home.
What shall i do about footwear?
Please ensure that you wear appropriate footwear for a muddy multi terrain course with obstacles and that your trainers are securely fastened! It is recommended that you secure your shoes to your feet with gaffer tape. In the interests of safety – no running spikes are allowed.
Do we get provided with T-Shirts?
Yes. Global’s Make Some Noise have kindly provided us with official T Shirts for competitors to run in. These can be collected when you arrive onsite prior to the race.
Are there toilets on site?
Toilets are located prior to the race in the Grandstand and Paddock Foyer and opposite the bag drop facility.
What to do about food and drink?
There are plenty of food and drink outlets inside available all serving delicious local food and drink! Book a table at The Border Minstrel Pub which is located onsite 0191 2362002, serving Sunday Roast’s – perfect after a 10K run!
Is there an onsite Photographer?
The Bigger Picture will be taking photographs of the runners on the way round which will be used by the organisers of the Newcastle Stampede for marketing purposes and on our Social Media sites. You will be able to purchase the photographs from the official photographer after the event at www.thisisthebiggerpicture.co.uk.
